we are really excited! We have used the time during COVID19 and been busy over the last few months: And now we are happy to be able to present our new Granny Aupair online portal just in time for the beginning of autumn, on September 23rd.

If you then visit www.granny-aupair.com, you will hardly notice any difference at first glance, because we have deliberately retained our typical Granny Aupair design. You will find changes and new things in the area after login, with which you will be able to familiarize yourself quickly and intuitively.

Here are the advantages at a glance:

  • Quicker and better access with your mobile devices (tablet, mobile, cell phone) as well as with your PC or laptop.
  • Besides bank transfer and Paypal, additional payment options via credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, Maestro

The move

Just like with a real-life move, there is a lot to do regarding a virtual transition. Therefore, our online portal/website will be unavailable during the course of 21.09. until probably 22.09. Naturally we will be there for you by phone and e-mail!

One more explanatory note: We had to adapt some questions or details in the profiles due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For example, personal details such as health restrictions etc. may no longer be queried. Likewise, any contacts you have made during your membership will be permanently removed from your profile three weeks after your membership expires. If you wish to keep the contact details, we recommend that you write them down elsewere.

After your first login (following the 23.09.), please take another look at your profile and complete or update your details if necessary. We are at your disposal for any further questions. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to the new GrannyAupair portal, which we hope you will like as much as we do!

Newsletter Grannies - Longing for Grandchildren

Dear Ladies,

Reinhild from South Germany would have liked to become a grandmother. She had always dreamed of cuddling with the little ones, drying their tears, playing with them and baking cakes. "Just what grandmothers do," she says. She also says: "My daughter, my only child, never wanted children."

As with Reinhild, many of our Grannies have unfortunately not (yet) been blessed with grandchildren, or their own grandchildren live far away or are already grown up.  Many of our families also do not have a grandmother nearby who can help them in their tightly scheduled daily routine. Reinhild had enough of waiting and discovered a useful alternative for herself. She became a Granny Aupair with a young family in England and lovingly cared for the two children. "The little ones have grown so close to my heart. Sometimes it is exhausting, but I feel so much joy every day – even if I am only the substitute grandmother".

As a suggestion and inspiration we would like to introduce you to three families who would like to welcome a loving temporary Granny as soon as possible.

In our newsletters we always present only a few from our list of families. Just have a look at our online portal. There you will find many families who are looking for a loving replacement Granny – in the near future or for next year.

Very best wishes from

Your Michaela Hansen und your Granny Aupair-Team

Beautiful Oise-Valley in the Ile de France

The Val d'Oise department is located in the north of the greater Paris area.  With the Oise river in its midst and bordered by the Seine it also has two beautiful natural parks. With many abbeys, castles, typical villages and museums, the region can boast of its architectural and cultural heritage. In the small village of Epiais Rhus, near Pointoise, an international family of four (user name buzbyinparis) with two girls (3 and 1) is looking for a loving, flexible Granny Aupair with a driver's license as soon as possible to help the parents, who both work from home: “We are a warm and welcoming family and would welcome someone who wants to be an active part of our family. We like the idea of a multi-generational family and the experience for our girls of growing up with people from all ages and cultures." The Granny will be staying in a  beautiful room in a big house in a rural environment. The travel expenses are taken over in part.

Nature and culture in the Taunus Region

The Taunus region in south-westerly Germany is characterized by cultural, natural and architectural highlights. With its variety of landscapes and proximity to the Main metropolis of Frankfurt, the region has something to offer everyone. In Kelkheim in the Vortaunus, about 25 kilometers from Frankfurt, a small family (user name: Lia Nael Eloisa) with a daughter of just under one year old plus dog is looking for a loving, patient temporary grandmother with a driving license for little Lia as soon as possible, preferably for longer.  It would be ideal if the Granny would also like to accompany the family on trips. In addition the family has a housekeeper. In her profile the mother writes: "It would be great if the Granny can become part of our family and accompany us when we travel. We are flexible in terms of time. Everything is a question of communication. What we would like best is a longer period of working together... just to get to know each other better, that would be great. :-)“ A beautiful large room with private bathroom in a spacious house is waiting for the Granny. The travel expenses are covered in full.

Historical town on the Thames Estuary

Not far from the Thames estuary in the county of Essex in South-East England you can find the historic town of Benfleet. Among other things you can find the traditional seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea nearby plus many beaches, bays and castles. London is also only 1 hour away by train. In Benfleet a Dutch-English family of five with three children (boy, 5, and 2 girls 2 years and a baby) and the username Casje is looking for an understanding, open Granny Aupair with a driver's license as soon as possible. The baby of the family has special needs and therefore the mother, who is currently at home, needs support for the other two children, who are in nursery or school three and five days a week respectively until the afternoon. A nice room in a big house on the outskirts of town is available for the Granny. The travel expenses will be fully covered.

Our Tip:

Search with your heart AND mind! Before you commit to a family, you should agree on important details and requirements about your time as a Granny Aupair. Thus there will be no unwelcome surprises later on and both sides will know what they can expect. Remember: The families rely on you!

Once you have made a contact request, you will need a bit of patience. It often takes a few days or even weeks until the families get back to you. The families are often very busy or collect some requests before they answer.
