Dear Ladies,

For a long time scientists have assumed that the development of the brain is completed with adult age and that from then on we only “deteriorate” mentally during the further course of our lives. But far from it! Studies now show that new nerve connections are formed by learning processes even in advanced age. In order to keep the mind fit, however, the obligatory crossword puzzle or brainteasers are not enough. Rather, it is more about looking for complex experiences. New tasks, new projects bring us to a whole new performance capacity on a mental level. 

A very special challenge is also offered by Granny Aupair: getting to know a new culture, meeting new people or learning another language! And this in a family, as a companion or in a social project.

We frequently receive messages from Grannies about their new challenges, like from Margret (63), who stayed with a family in Wimbledon, England: “All in all, I can only draw a very positive conclusion; I‘ve been really fortunate. It was always my wish to get to know England, its people and the language better. La vie francaise

 

Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Champs-Elysees, the beautiful Versaille Palace or just soaking up the atmosphere of the French Capital. There is just so much to do in Paris. Here a granny experienced family of three (Two dads and a one year old son) with the user name ParisFamily are looking for their next independent loving, reliable native English speaking Granny Aupair as from September 1st. 

As the little boy goes to a crèche until the afternoon (except Wednesday), the Granny would have enough time to explore the exciting city and/or visit a language course. A lovely room with private bath in a large apartment in the heart of Paris awaits the Granny. The travelling costs will be taken over in full.

Between Fire and Water

Fire, water, air and earth - hardly any other region in Germany is so shaped by the elements as the Eifel low mountain range. The landscape reflects the geological development of millions of years in fast forward: Valleys crossed by rivers, extinct volcanic cones, bizarre rock formations and stacked mountain ranges.

On the outskirts of the Eifel and not far from Cologne is the small town of Nideggen-Schmidt, which offers countless leisure opportunities. Here a young family of six (user name Alice St.) with four children (2 girls 11 and 8 and 2 boys 10 and 2) is looking for a flexible responsible Granny Aupair with driving license and who likes cooking as from August 1st to support the parents who work as policeman and midwife. The older three very independent children go to school in the mornings and the youngest to Kindergarten. A lovely room with private bath in a large house in beautiful surroundings is waiting for the Granny. A car will also be made available.

Our tip:

Since many of our families are of international origin, it would be helpful if you write in English and German/or French/or Spanish in the “free text fields” in your profile - for example by writing about yourself and your hobbies. If necessary, Google or DeepL Translator can also help. Thus the families can get a better picture of you.

As a subscriber to our newsletter you are already registered for free. You can log into the secure area and browse through the profiles of our families with no further obligation.

·  Become a member

As a member of Granny Aupair you can then get in contact with other members. For this purpose you just click on the “Become a member” button in our community-section and pay your membership fee easily by PayPal or bank transfer. Tip: Upon payment with PayPal your profile is activated straight away and you can contact our Families & co. immediately. 

·  Finding your way abroad

As a member of Granny Aupair you can now get in touch with the families and co. They can then also view your profile and contact you. You decide who may see your contact details. Write, phone or skype in detail with the families who are on your short list. Maybe you can also organize an introductory meeting. Get to know each other thoroughly and discuss the precise arrangements of your stay (accommodation, responsibilities and daily routine, coverage of travel costs, pocket money etc.). Is the chemistry right? Then get your things together and you’re off!
