Newsletter Grannies - Doing good worldwide in our social projects
Dear Reader, dear Grannies,
Have you always wanted to lend a hand where help is needed most? Or are you a nurse, carer for the elderly, teacher, educator or do you know a lot about administration for example? Then our volunteer work is just the right thing for you!
By volunteering in one of our projects, you will be helping directly and in a very tangible way. On three different continents - Africa, South America and Asia - you can put your knowledge into practice in a total of 12 social projects. Whether it's supporting senior citizens in a retirement home in Namibia, helping to organise lessons in an English-speaking school in Cambodia or paving the way for Indian women to lead a self-determined life - there's something for everyone.
Below you can find an example of one of our projects where you can currently help in various areas. You can find more social projects here or send us an e-mail
Best wishes from

North India: Helping women to help themselves
The project supports women and children to become more independent through practical skills and to strengthen their self-confidence. The programme is aimed at experienced, independent-minded volunteers who can adapt respectfully to local conditions, work at grassroots level and support long-term social change.
Volunteers with practical knowledge and English skills are currently being sought for at least two months in three areas. In the area of education and training, the focus is on teaching maths and English to women with little previous education.
You can also help with creative early childhood and primary school education in children's centres or vocational training in handicrafts, tailoring and fashion design. In the area of administration and communication, specialists are needed for office organisation, project management, social media, fundraising and donor communication. The Social Initiatives department is looking for bakers and and experts in the café/catering field to train young people, as well as fashion and textile experts to improve quality and develop designs.
Assignments are possible all year round. Practical knowledge in one of the aformentioned areas and English language skills are required.
