Newsletter Grannies - The greatest sight to see is the world

Dear Grannies,

To quote German author Kurt Tucholsky “The greatest sight to see is the world – take a look at it!”

As a Granny au pair, you have the wonderful opportunity to do just that: discover the world with free board and lodging, get to know the everyday life and way of life of a foreign country or a different environment, and perhaps even learn a new language along the way.

You will gain valuable insights into the soul of a culture – insights that usually remain hidden from travellers. There are so many good reasons to take the plunge!

All over the world, families are looking for a loving Granny Aupair to support and enrich their lives. We are introducing you to two of them below. And you can find many more on our online community

Very best wishes for a golden October

Your Michaela Hansen and Your Granny Aupair-Team

Canals, tulips and culture

The ‘Venice of the North’ combines canals, coffee shops and world-famous museums: the Dutch metropolis of Amsterdam has an international flair and offers something for every taste.

In the beautiful Oud Zuid district, a German-Dutch family (user name: AssistantNetherlands) with a 6-year-old girl is looking for a loving, flexible temporary grandma who enjoys cooking children's meals, preferably for a longer period (also to accompany the family on trips if necessary).

Both parents are away on business several times a week. The little girl goes to school until the afternoon, so the Granny would also have plenty of time to explore the exciting metropolis. The Granny will have a nice large room in a house in the center at her disposal. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Baroque town near the Black Forest

With its baroque facades set against the backdrop of the Black Forest, the German town of Offenburg is situated picturesquely between vineyards in the east and orchards in the southwest. Only 20 kilometres from Strasbourg, the Ortenau region is considered one of the sunniest in the area.

In the small village of Sasbach near Offenburg and the famous Spa town of Baden-Baden a young family of four (two girls 3 and 1) with the user name Familie Richter would like to welcome a Granny rich in life experience with a driving license who also likes to be outdoors, to support the parents, especially in the early mornings and late afternoons. The little girls go to nursery until 16:00, so the Granny would have time to explore the beautiful surroundings.

The family lives in a large multigenerational house with grandparents and great-grandparents in a rural area. An own small self-contained flat is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.

Let yourself be inspired!

It's best to draw inspiration from all the offers! Don't focus too much on the country. Ultimately, the people you are going to live with are more important. Once you have sent a contact request, you will need to be patient. It often takes a few days or even weeks for families to respond. The families are very busy or collect several requests before responding.
