Newsletter Grannies - Friendship knows no age limits
Dear Grannies,
In the past, grandparents were often seen mainly as authority figures but those times have long since changed. Today, grandma and grandpa are valuable companions, trusted confidants, and caring supporters for their grandchildren – and an important bridge to the past.
Unfortunately, in many families today, children rarely see their grandparents because they live in different cities or even different countries.
Granny Aupair helps to close this gap: children whose grandparents live far away – or who no longer have grandparents – gain an experienced, loving older caregiver. At the same time, parents benefit from reliable support in everyday life. As a Granny, you not only help with childcare, but often also with language learning and keeping (family) traditions alive.
Below, we would like to introduce you to two families who are currently looking for their “good soul” – either in the near future or later this year. You will find many more families in our online community.
Best wishes from
Your Michaela Hansen and Your Granny Aupair-Team
River Valley in South West Germany
Nestled among gentle hills, vineyards and in the valley of the river Saar on the border triangle of Germany, France and Luxembourg you can find the small municipality of Kanzem. Situated between the towns of Konz and Saarburg, the surroundings have an almost Mediterranean climate with beautiful hiking and bike paths.
Here a small family (single father with daughter 7 and son 4) and the user name PSankat is looking forward to welcoming a kind, responsible, patient and open-hearted temporary grandma - with a driving licence, as a new family member. The father works as a pilot, so needs support in the weeks the children stay with him. Little Mira and Henry go to school and kindergarten until midday (Mira) or the afternoon (Henry). In the weeks when the children are with their mother, the Granny would be completely free to explore or travel.
The Granny is provided with a nice room in large house in a rural area. The travelling expenses will be taken over in part.

Rocky Mountain Country
In the east of the USA, in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado, the town of Colorado Springs can be found 100 ks south of Denver and at the foot of the Pikes Peak Region, which offers countless attractions, like the beautiful Garden of the Gods.
Here a Swedish-American family of six (user name saral) with 3 boys (17, 10 and 1) and a girl (3) plus dog and cat are looking for a patient and experienced temporary grandma with a driving licence to give the parents a hand. The older two boys who go to school, are only with the family 50 percent of the time. Ideally, the Granny should also speak some Spanish.
A large room with private bath in a spacious house in a rural area is waiting for the Granny. The travelling expenses will be covered in part.

You like the look of a family, but their details, such as the proposed arrival date of the Granny or length of stay, do not match your expectations? Then contact the family anyway. They often look for severa Grannies in a row and plan ahead.
