Be it near or far away- many of our host families are multilingual or the children attend international schools. It is therefore valuable support when a Granny can also help with learning or improving a language. Whether it's reading together, learning through play or through simple, patient conversation in everyday life - as a Granny, you are often the key to natural language acquisition.

And the best thing is: in addition to language support, you bring one thing above all - calm, patience and genuine care. You will quickly become a valued member of the family - and often an important „person to go to“ for the children.

Culture, Nature and Mountains in the Heart of Europe

Zurich, located on the beautiful Lake Zurich, combines creative city life with beautiful nature close to the fantastic Swiss mountains and the local mountain Uetli right on the doorstep.

In the cosmopolitan metropolis, a small family of three (mother with 2 sons, 7 and 5) and the user name EINiNi is looking for an active, nature-loving, temporary grandma, who might also enjoy cooking and baking to give the mama a helping hand. The two boys go to school or kindergarten every day until late afternoon (Friday until midday) so the Granny would have time to explore the exciting city and beautiful surroundings.

A nice room with private bath in a house on the outskirts is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Companion in the City of Angels needed

Hollywood glamour, a relaxed surfing atmosphere and cultural highlights are the hallmarks of Los Angeles, where every neighbourhood has its own charm.

In Los Feliz, a neighbourhood, an American- (East-) Indian doctor’s family (user name RKhatri) is looking for their next patient, compassionate and loving companion who also enjoys cooking for their 79-year-old mother, who recently suffered a mild stroke. The mother  is not in need of care, mainly needs companionship e.g. walking and help with cooking as well as some assistance with relearning to speak (post stroke, but does not have to be professional help).

The Granny will have her own three-room flat in the centre of Los Feliz. All travelling expenses will be covered.

”During my first stay in Giza in 2023, I read 15 German children's books in 5 weeks with an Egyptian fourth-grader, as specified by the teacher at the German school in Cairo, and collected 1000 Antolin points by answering the quizzes on the content.

Last November, a boy from Switzerland remembered from my last stay there in February that among other things I was a swimming teacher. He wanted to learn to swim. Within three afternoons, he managed to progress from learning the arm and leg movements of the breaststroke separately for the first time, to doing them synchronised with my supporting hand to swimming from edge to edge across the pool on his own with the help of a pool noodle! These are successes that I could only dream of as a class teacher for many years: Genuine individual support without a large group and without time pressure! Granny Aupair makes it possible!”
