Dear Reader, dear Grannies,

Older people in particular are less constrained, live more impulsively and gain self-esteem, states the Austrian gerontologist and sociologist Franz Kolland in a research report. We can only confirm this – in the last 15 years several thousand women aged between 45 and 80 have travelled to over 50 countries and supported families and social projects there as Granny Aupairs.

Through their life experience, our Grannies have already proven themselves in many situations and are not afraid to take on new challenges.

You can read all about what our Grannies have experienced in recent years here. And of course we would also be delighted to receive a few lines from you about your Granny time or your upcoming adventure!

Below we would like to introduce you to three families who would like to welcome some support soon. And besides these families, various other families are currently looking for a temporary grandma who can give them a helping hand. Just take a look at our online community.

Pearl of the Costa del Sol  

From Cabopino to Guadalmina, Marbella on Spain's sunny coast offers 26 kilometres of beautiful coastline with a series of sunny beaches. You can also find the typical Andalusian flair, with whitewashed houses and orange trees adorning the streets and squares.

From the end of March, a German-Russian family of soon-to-be four (username Harry) with a 6-year-old son and, from April, a baby, is looking for a loving temporary grandma with a driving licence to help out the mother, as the father is away on business 20 days a month. The little boy goes to school until the afternoon. The Granny will have a nice room with her own bathroom in a large flat on the outskirts of the city. The travelling expenses are covered in full.

Country life in the Brandenburg Lake District

The 800-year-old Havel town of Zehdenick, a popular starting point for nature tourism in a picturesque forest and meadow landscape, is located around 50 kilometres from Berlin in the Brandenburg Lake District in North-East Germany. The community of Badenick is to be found near the historic town.

Here a Dutch farming family of six (user name Familie Eva) with 2 daughters (13 and 7) and 2 sons (10 and 3) plus dogs and cats, would like to welcome a nature and animal-loving Granny Aupair with a driving licence to support the parents. The children all go to school/kindergarten until early afternoon, so the Granny would also have time for herself. A room in a guest flat (which occasionally has to be shared with other guests) next to the family farm is available to the Granny. All travelling expenses are covered.

Germany’s exciting capital   

Vibrant culture, cutting-edge architecture, fabulous food, and tangible history – you can experience all this and more in Germany’s thrilling capital of Berlin.

In the centre of the exciting metropolis a small family of three (user name Olivia_Felina) with a  2 year old daughter is looking forward to welcoming a loving, flexible temporary grandma, who also likes cooking. Little Olivia’s mother will be working in Munich for 2-3 days a week, so the dad would be glad of some extra support.

The little girl goes to kindergarten until the early afternoon, so the Granny would have enough time to explore the great surroundings and/or visit a language course. The Granny would be provided with a large room with private bath in the family’s apartment in the city centre. The travel costs will be taken over in part.
