Dear family,

15 years of Granny Aupair! We will be celebrating our anniversary at the beginning of next year. In all these years, several thousand Grannies have travelled to many families over 50 countries. People have come together who would probably never have met without Granny Aupair - they have opened their hearts and arms. Families have shared their home with a Granny for a certain period of time - entrusting her with the most precious thing they have - their children.

Grannies have summoned up the courage to fulfil their lifelong dream. They have embarked on the Granny Aupair adventure - near and far. Many have travelled the world to help families or social projects and have immersed themselves in other cultures. This requires a great deal of adaptability and tolerance from everyone involved. We would like to express our thanks and respect to all Grannies and families for this.

The many encounters must have given rise to some great stories. We have already heard some of them (see comments and feedback) and others are still waiting  to be told.  This is why we would like to ask our Grannies and families to get in touch. We would be delighted if you could send us impressions, anecdotes and pictures of your experiences with a Granny Aupair by e-mail.

Experienced and loving: Granny Andrea

As from mid-March, Granny Andrea (username Andrea Maria) is looking for her next family - preferably in English-speaking countries, whom she would like to support as a temporary Granny.

The 69-year-old former school secretary and tour guide, who has often been abroad as a Granny Aupair, loves being outdoors and enjoys cooking, baking and handicrafts, among other things. The outgoing and sporty temporary grandma has a lot of experience with children and is very much looking forward to accompanying more children on their journey and passing on her language and culture.

In her profile she writes: ‘I see myself as a citizen of the world and bringing children closer to this world, that would be my wish! I would love to be fully integrated into a family! Simply being a ‘helping hand’ to the host family in all matters, that's how I imagine life in the family.’

Reliable and versatile: Granny Cornelia 

Granny Cornelia (user name Conny55) would also like to support a family with help and advice as a loving Granny Aupair from mid-March. The 69-year-old former engineer, cook and child carer is interested in many countries. Cooking, cycling and reading are among her wide-ranging interests.

The independent mother of three adult children, who has travelled extensively, is looking forward to combining her interests with supporting a family  now having reached retirement age.

In her profile, she writes: ‘As a temporary family member, I hope to be able to take on some of the work that arises and at the same time have enough time to improve my language skills.’

In this case, you should also check whether your profile is still up to date, e.g. if you are looking for another Granny for a later date, please update the date of the possible arrival.
