Newsletter Grannies - Enriching experiences through good preparation
Dear Reader, dear Grannies,
For many ladies the time spent as a Granny Aupair is an unforgettable and enriching experience. Moving to a new environment and living with a new family is an exciting adventure. Good physical and mental resilience is therefore an advantage in order to be able to meet unforeseen situations flexibly and calmly.
The better you prepare for your time as a Granny Aupair, the more successful your stay can be. Find out in advance about the family, the culture, the climate and the environment/country in which you will be staying.
An open attitude and adaptability are advantageous in order to feel comfortable in new surroundings. This also includes adapting to different lifestyles, daily routines and perhaps even a different language. All of this will help you to have a wonderful and unforgettable Granny time.
Here we are introducing you to two families who would like to welcome a loving temporary grandma as a new family member in the near future or in the new year.
Very best wishes from
Your Michaela Hansen and your Granny Aupair-Team
Garden City Down Under
The Australian capital Canberra is known as a green and relaxed metropolis, and it's not called the ‘Garden City’ for nothing. Here you will find extensive areas of natural beauty that are combined in the Canberra Nature Park. There are also numerous sights and tourist highlights, art and culture, interesting shops and a lively nightlife.
In a suburb of the exciting capital city, an international family of five (username: The Al-Ani’s) with three children (two girls, one boy aged approx 3-16) who have recently returned to Australia are looking for an open and flexible temporary grandma with a driving licence, who may also enjoy cooking and help support the family as they ‘re-acclimatise’. The two older children Ann and Shams go to school until the afternoon, little Sophia attends kindergarten two days a week, so the Granny would have enough time to explore the interesting neighbourhood and/or take a language course.
A nice room in a large house on the outskirts of the city will be made available to the Granny. Travelling expenses will be covered on in part.

Here in this exciting Californian city, a granny-experienced American-Irish family of four (user name JulieOD) with two daughters (6 and 2) is looking for their next open-minded and spontaneous Granny Aupair for a period in 2025. Two older children, not living at home, are also part of the family.
Little Molly goes to school until the afternoon, so the Granny would also have time to explore the exciting surroundings and/or visit a language course. A large room with private bathroom in a big house in the centre is provided. Travel costs will be taken over in part.

Our tips:
Nobody likes to be stood up at short notice. Due to topical reasons, we would like to ask you to think carefully before you agree to help a family, whether you can really be available at that time. The families are relying on you!
