Dear Reader, dear Grannies,

“Once is not enough" - that's what many of our Grannies and families are saying,  as over 50 per cent of them are now repeaters. It is not uncommon for real, long-term friendships to develop between the temporary grandmas and "their" families. Many families have already welcomed two, three or even more temporary grannies into their homes and are always happy to use our offer.

Both sides benefit from the placement: the Granny has good advice for many situations and helps out with her time, while the families can offer the accumulated expertise of a younger generation and show the Granny life in a different environment or culture. The exchange is lively and fruitful and enriches both sides.

Today we would like to introduce you to two families who have already hosted a Granny Aupair on one or more occasions and would like to welcome another temporary Granny as part of the family again, preferably in the very near future. As well as a family who are new to the Granny Aupair adventure! In addition there are also many other families around the world waiting for their good soul, who can give them a hand with life experience and expertise.

Urgently seeking Granny for the South of France

A wide blue sky, beautiful sea and in the hinterland the Maritime Alps and the Massif des Maures, plus the famous towns of Cannes, Nice and Antibes, which are lined up like pearls along the coast: This is the Côte d'Azur.

In the small town of Biot  3 kilometres from the coast in the Alps Maritimes, a small very Granny-experienced German-French family (user name SilkeE) with a seven-year-old girl and a cat is looking for their next  lovable, reliable, resilient and consistent temporary Granny with a driving licence who ideally also speaks English or French, ideally as from June 1st. Very important is that the Granny can drive and navigate safely.

The mother works shifts as a pilot, so is at home at different times. Little Amelia goes to school four days a week until the afternoon, so Granny would have time to attend a language course and explore the beautiful surroundings. The Granny will be provided with a nice large room with her own bathroom in a spacious house. All travelling expenses will be covered.

World metropolis on the Mediterranean

Multifaceted architecture and culture, southern joie de vivre and Catalan hospitality await you in Barcelona, the exciting Spanish harbour city on the Mediterranean. Here a small Croatian-Spanish family (mum and 5 year old son plus cat) and the username inunkovic are looking for their next experienced, flexible Granny Aupair, who also likes to cook, to give the mother a helping hand as soon as possible.  

The little boy goes to school until 16:30, so the Granny would have enough time to explore the exciting surroundings and/or take a language course. During the school holidays in August, the Granny would have to help a few more hours per day. A nice room in a flat on the outskirts of the city is waiting for the Granny. The travelling costs will be taken over in part.

Classic New England   

Almost un-spoilt nature with dense forests, rocky coastlines and dark blue lakes awaits visitors to the US state of Maine. The classic New England small town of Bethel is beautifully situated in the mountains and lakes region of the "Pine Tree State".

Here, a soon-to-be family of four (username SCaddigan88) with a one-year-old son and a baby due in August, is looking forward to welcoming a loving, toddler-savvy temporary grandma with a driving licence who also enjoys cooking. Little Kai is still at home and the parents would be very happy to have a few helping hands.

A nice large room with its own bathroom in a spacious house in a rural setting will be made available to the Granny. All travelling expenses will be covered.

Search with heart and mind - before you definitely confirm your stay with a family, you should agree on the essential requirements for your time together. That way, there will be no unwelcome surprises later on and both sides will know what they are getting into.
