Dear Reader, dear Grannies,

Easter is hardly over but already many families are planning for the summer months. Due to the many public holidays in spring in various countries, there will also be several weeks and days off school in the near future, which presents many parents with a truly Herculean task. Holidays and days off are a great time for children - and for parents too, if they don't have to work. However, if your allocated time off has already been used up or other commitments are pressing, planning becomes increasingly difficult.

Many families dream of having a "temporary Granny" at home to support the parents during this stressful time. Our Granny Aupairs are experts in childcare: they play, do arts and crafts, sing and bake with the children, take them to and from school and kindergarten, or even help with the cooking from time to time: As an au pair Granny, you are an invaluable help to the families and often lifelong friendships are formed.

Today we are introducing you to four families who would be delighted to welcome another pair of helping hands in the near future or a little later. You can find more families on our online community.

Flower Power City

On the exciting West Coast of the USA, natural landmarks, the thundering Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as all the other fantastic sights that San Francisco has to offer, are waiting for you!

Here in this exciting Californian city, a granny-experienced American-Irish family of four (username JulieOD) with two daughters (aged 5 and 2) are looking for their next open and spontaneous Granny Aupair from June. Two older children, who do not live at home, are also part of the family. Little Molly goes to pre-school until the afternoon, so the Granny would also have time to discover the exciting neighbourhood and/or take a language course.

A large room with a private bathroom in a large house with a garden and hot tub in the centre of the lively Noe district will be provided. Travelling expenses will be covered in part.

Rocky Mountain Country

And further east across the country in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado you can find the historic town of  Arvada situated between Denver and Boulder. Surrounded by kilometres of hiking and biking trails and close to numerous ski and mountain resorts, the town has a lively "Old Town" with numerous restaurants, cafés, galleries and shopping opportunities.

Here a small Italian-American family (username Iburns731) with a 7 month old daughter and dog are looking for an experienced, dynamic Granny to help out the mother from July as the father works out of town during the week. Ideally the Granny should also speak some Italian or Spanish.

A separate flat with kitchen and bathroom next to the family's spacious house awaits the Granny. All travelling expenses will be covered.

Australian Illawara Coast

On the Pacific Coast, 85 km north of Sydney you can find the vibrant town of Woollangong. Set between beautiful beaches and the cliffline of the rainforest-covered Illawarra escarpment the town offers many attractions to be discovered.

As from August a small Mauritian-British family (mother and 12year old son) with the user name Sooraiyah, currently still living in Great Britain, will be relocating to Australia, where the mother will work as a doctor and would welcome a flexible, loving temporary Granny to give her a hand. The boy will be at school until late afternoon, so the Granny would have time to explore the fantastic surroundings.

The family will be renting an apartment with a nice room for the Granny in the city centre. The travelling costs will be taken over in part.

Vive la France!

Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomph – those are only a few of the many sights you can enjoy in Paris.

Here in the fascinating French capital, home of this year’s Olympic Games, a small family (father and two 13 month old babies) with the user name Thomas S. is looking foward to welcoming a loving, babyexperienced Granny Aupair as from mid July.

The family lives with the father’s parents in a large house in the city centre. A self contained studio flat is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Once you have made a contact enquiry, you need to be patient. It often takes a few days or even weeks for families to get back to you. The families are very busy or may collect a few enquiries before they reply.
