Dear family,

The pressure of the pre-Christmas period is in full swing and hopefully you will have a few quiet days during the actual holidays. But with the new year the whole hustle and bustle mostly willbe starting all over again. How wonderful it would be to have a few helping and experienced hands in the house....

At the moment around 130 Grannies among others from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, England and the USA are looking for a meaningful role in a friendly family, for a longer period or just to bridge a gap in a stressful time.

We would like to introduce you to three Grannies who would like to start their Granny Aupair adventure at the beginning of the new year (or a bit later). You can find many more Grannies on our online community.

Open and caring: Granny Mériam

Granny Mériam (user name AlltagsHeldin) is particularly interested in families in English-speaking countries, who preferably live near the sea, whom she can support as a Granny Aupair from mid-January. The 55-year-old self-employed family carer and former childminder enjoys baking and cooking and loves games, hiking and music

The animal-loving mother of two grown-up children is also looking forward to discovering a different environment. In her profile she writes: "I am looking forward to a family with one or more children. I like children very much and I am rather open with them, so that they can live in their natural way and discover themselves. Of course I would not allow everything.“

Commited and helpful: Granny Micaela

Granny Micaela (user name Micawi) would like give a family a hand as soon as possible, preferably in Austria, Italy or southern Europe.

The fit and sporty 71-year-old former employee and volunteer in the "Emergency Mothers' Service" enjoys baking, hiking and reading and has already spent several periods abroad. In her profile she writes: "I wish to enrich my life and of course that of my host family, whom I would like to offer support and help. A stay in another country will broaden my horizons all round."

Versatile and open-minded: Granny Andrea

Granny Andrea (user name: Andra Pit) will be available as a temporary granny from the beginning of January next year. The 66-year-old former management assistant enjoys cooking, loves dogs and yoga and was already abroad as an au pair as a young woman.

The mother of two grown-up children, both of whom also live abroad, and grandmother of one grandchild would like to pass on something of her culture and country, just as she would like to immerse herself in a new country and learn from it: "I would like to get in touch with the local population and also get to know their peculiarities and differences to Germany. I want to give the children in my host family the opportunity to get involved with new people, play together, read and do things. And, of course, I want to integrate into my host family and try to ensure that we can learn a lot from each other."

Please bear in mind that our Granny Aupairs need a little more advance notice than a young au pair, because they have to arrange a lot more for their stay than a young person, where the parents mostly still look after the "house and yard".

Of course, there are also Grannies who can spontaneously drop everything to travel.

In general, however, it is advisable to look for a Granny Aupair in good time so that both sides have enough time to prepare.
