In the past, it was often the case that several generations lived in one house. If the parents had to work, the grandparents looked after the little ones. Nowadays, unfortunately, things are often different: Employees have to become more and more flexible in order to get ahead in their jobs – but that this also requires adaptable childcare is a real problem, especially for single parents.

As a Granny Aupair, you can help families with childcare in a very flexible way. Not only do you babysit, but you are integrated into the family as a temporary Granny. The parents can relax and take care of their job while they know that the little ones are in good hands: As a Granny, you conjure up delicious food, help with homework, play, sing, do handicrafts and romp with the little ones, comfort and cheer them up, go for walks and much more. In short, as a woman with life experience who is hardly a stranger to children's problems – from painful teething for little ones to broken hearts for teenagers - you fill a big gap in many families, just as a real grandma would do.

On the beautiful St. Lawrence River

More than a thousand green islands can be found in the St. Lawrence River which is lined with a picturesque landscape and with beautiful historic villages waiting to be discovered. In the Canadian province of Ontario, between the famous river and the capital Ottawa, you can find the small town of Kemptville.

Here, a family of four (username Jenn Rory) with two sons (11 and 1) plus a cat are looking forward to a loving, nature-loving temporary grandmother who can give the mother, who has some health problems, a hand. It would be nice if the Granny is also interested in gardening or cooking. The older son goes to school until the afternoon, the little one is still at home. A nice room in a spacious house with huge garden, pool and hot tub in a rural environment is waiting for the Granny.

America’s Heartbeat

White House, Capitol, exciting museums and beautiful parklands – you can discover it all in Washington D.C.. In the exciting American capital, a granny-experienced little family (mother plus boy 4 and girl 1) and the user name KMattey is looking for their next loving, experienced Granny Aupair from around October or a little later to give the mother, who works as a doctor's assistant, a bit of help.

Little Charlie goes to preschool until afternoon and little Ivy goes to nursery until noon. A nice room with its own bathroom in a house on the outskirts of the city is available for the Granny. The travel costs will be covered in part.

Pearl of the Bavarian Inn Valley

In the beautiful foothills of the Bavarian Alps with its hills and mountains as well as countless lakes you can find the climatic Spa village of Oberaudorf, also called the "Pearl of the Inn Valley".

In this picturesque village, a German-Italian family (user name raffaella I.) with two girls (4 and 2 years old) is looking for an Italian-speaking temporary grandma with a driving licence, preferably for longer. Both girls go to kindergarten until 15:00, so the Granny would also have time to herself to explore the fantastic surroundings.

The family also has a childminder three days a week. A beautiful loft room with mountain views and private bathroom awaits the Granny. Travel costs are covered in full.

Our tip:

Don't be put off if the preferred arrival date for the Granny in the family profiles is in the past! Some families simply "forget" to change their profile date (which can also happen to Grannies), but are still urgently looking for a Granny. Do not hesitate to write to the families you are interested in.

And please remember, the families depend on your reliable help. Therefore, think carefully before committing to a placement.
