Today we would like to give you a few tips so that your expectations of being a Granny Aupair will be fulfilled as far as possible. The profiles of the family already give you a lot of information. If you don't want too much hustle and bustle, then a family with three small children and possibly pets is not for you. Instead, maybe look for families with one (older) child.

Can you keep yourself busy (important if the family lives further away or in the country) or do you prefer a lively environment? Do you prefer city life or country life, or do you just want to try something completely new? These things also count when making a decision.

It is very important to discuss everything in advance. Before you finally decide on a family, talk about your working hours, free time, possible pocket money and other things that are important to you. The better informed you are when you start your Granny Aupair life, the more you will be protected from unwelcome surprises.

Also prepare yourself for the country you are travelling to. Many countries have completely different customs and traditions than your home country.

In the land of pyramids and pharaohs

Timeless historical treasures, seductive bazaars and romantic Nile cruises: discover Egypt's culture and history at first hand.

As a city of contrasts, Giza in the Cairo metropolitan region and very close to the famous pyramids combines the sights of an ancient city and the advantages of a vibrant modern metropolis.

As soon as possible, a granny-experienced family of four (username Ayman Seoudy) with a 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son plus dog would like to welcome their next energetic positive temporary Granny, who also loves to cook. The Granny should bring and pick up the children (with the driver) to school or sports and look after them after school, which goes until 13:30.  A nice room in a big house in the centre is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs are taken over in part.

Charming historical English village 

Just a stone's throw from London, but seemingly a thousand miles away from the hustle and bustle of the capital, lies the county of Surrey with its beautiful rolling countryside and large forests. 

In the vicinity of the town of Godalming you can find the historic village of Chiddingfold with many half-timbered houses, where a British-Italian family of four (username Julia B.) with daughter (8) and son (4) is looking for a loving temporary grandma with a driving licence from 1 September. Mia and Pietro go to school until 15:30/16:00. The family moved to the country from London last year and are still adjusting a  bit. A lovely room in a nice roomy house in a rural setting awaits the Granny. Travel costs will be covered in part.

Fantastic French Riviera

A wide blue sky, beautiful sea, the Maritime Alps and the Massif des Maures in the back country, plus the famous cities, Cannes, Nice and Antibes, lined up like pearls along the coast: This is the Côte d'Azur.

Here, in the hills near Cannes, a German family of five (User name MariaP) with three boys (5, 3 and 2 months), who is moving to the south of France for one year starting end of July is looking a friendly, lovable, reliable and consistent temporary Granny, with a driving licence, who also likes cooking, to give the mum a helping hand, as the father is away a lot.  

The two older boys will be visiting the internaitonal school there, so Granny woul have time to attend a language course and explore the beautiful surrounding area. The Granny will be provided with a large space of her own with private bath in a big house with a pool in a rural setting. The  travel expenses will be taken over completely.

Our Tip:

No one likes to be stood up at short notice. In the light of recent events, we would ask you to think carefully before committing to a family whether you can really be available at that time. The families rely on you!!
