The school year has hardly started, then its break-time again: Half-term-holidays, Christmas break, Easter holidays, Inset-Days and not to forget six weeks to sometimes even three months of summer holidays hold massive challenges for parents, who do not work as teachers (and even for them). Even if both parents pack their entire annual leave into the school holidays, there is still a lot of time left over where the children have to be cared for otherwise – and this is still not including the family holidays!

“School holidays are the practical test under extreme conditions“, writes the author Arno Frank in the renowned German weekly paper Die Zeit. And further “Here you can let family and work collide frontally at full speed like two vehicles.“ How one would love to have a pair of helping hands giving support in the time off school. Our temporary grannies are experts in childcare: They play, craft, sing and bake with your children and have lots of ideas how to fill holiday time with activities. With an au pair-granny you always know your children in good hands!

Life today is full of challenges: Children, career, relationship, friends, hobbies, and everything has to be mastered successfully! Meeting all these requirements is no easy task. An au pair-granny helps you keep your life in balance. Here we introduce you to two of our experienced Grannies:

 

Granny Angela –multilingual & interested in culture

The 69 year old former teacher and translator (user name liliput), would like to come to a nice family as from January, preferably where it is warmer and for a longer time. In her profile the multilingual Granny (German, Romanian, French, Portuguese), who is also very interested in culture, writes: “As a citizen of this planet I am very interested in people and cultures. With Granny Aupair I have the possibility to travel the world and get to know a lot. As I know many languages I do not feel foreign abroad but nearly at home everywhere.”

Granny Christine – sporty & family-oriented

Granny Christine (user name: grannytine71) also wants to travel as from January, preferably for two months to a family in an English speaking country. The 72 year old former secretary has two daughters and five grandchildren and loves gardening, cooking, reading and hiking. The sporty Granny would also be prepared to help the family in the household. She would love to be warmly welcomed to a family.

Family from the USA: “It has been a great experience so far. We have had several Grannies over the last two years, and two of them have come back for a second stay. The children are really happy when a Granny comes again. We also had a "Granny Reunion" in Frankfurt in July this year with our family, my mother, and four grannies. • Handle the initial contact to the applicants

• Further the contact requests to you

• You decide which Granny you want to contact

• Everything further you can discuss directly and personally with the selected Grannies. As in the end the new family member has to fit in with you and not with us.

• If the chemistry and everything else is right, your temporary Granny can arrive!
