Dear Ladies,

Being a grandmother or looking after children can be something wonderful! A Granny cooks delicious meals for the children while the parents are at work. She knows loads of rhymes and songs. Plays Lego and Uno enthusiastically. And knows what to do with small ailments or first lovesickness. Grannies step in when there is hardly room left to breathe between laundry heaps, changing nappies and shopping: Grandmothers are the heart and soul in many families – difficult to imagine how daily life works without them. And this naturally also applies to our Granny Aupairs! 

For some time now a special day is being celebrated in more and more countries around the world to honour all grandmothers. In Great Britain this is the first Sunday in October, in France the first Sunday in March and in the USA it is celebrated in September. In Germany (as well as in Hong Kong and Pakistan) the second Sunday in October has been established to honour Grannies worldwide.

English Country Living 

Beautiful historic university town, small medieval market towns with ancient buildings and winding lanes as well as idyllically situated villages with the typical English Pubs. And exciting London is only 45 minutes away by train. Here on the border between Essex and Cambridgeshire this family of five (user name sgj) is looking for a loving temporary Granny as soon as possible, to support the mother with looking after the nearly two year old twin boys and the four month old baby girl. The twins go to nursery on Mondays and Thursdays. It is very important to the family that the Granny feels part of the family and they are looking forward to learning from the experiences of the temporary Grandma. A nice room in a large house in a typical English village is waiting for the Granny.

La vie francaise

Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Champs-Elysees, the beautiful Versailles palace or just enjoy the atmosphere of a typical French small town: Near the French metropolis in the town of Orgeval around 30 kilometers from Paris and not far from Versailles, this English speaking family of four (user name Janet H) with two girls (9 and 8) is looking for an experienced temporary Granny with a driving license as from January, preferably for seven months. The girls go to an international school until the afternoon, so the Granny would have enough time to explore the lovely surroundings or visit a language course. A lovely room in a big house on the outskirts is available for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.

Sunny South Tyrol

In the midst of beautiful vineyards and fruit gardens at the entrance to the sophisticated spa town of Meran you can find the “Garden Village” of Algund: Be it hiking on the Meran Ridgeway in South Tyrol’s largest natural preserve, sauntering in the footsteps of Empress Sissy or relaxing in the modern Thermal Spa of Meran – you can find something for every taste. Here a German-Italian family of four (user name sabrina m) with two children (12 and 3) are looking for cordial and empathic Granny as soon as possible, above all for little Leon, who is in Kindergarten until the afternoon. The family doesn’t have a Granny of its own anymore and is looking forward very much to a temporary Grandmother. A lovely room with private bath in a large house is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.
