Dear families,

When both the kids and the job have to take a back seat, then parents know very well that the day cannot have enough hours. It requires a lot of skill and organizational talent to combine both important areas of life and not feel that one of them is being neglected. How nice it would be have some helping hands to help you stay on top of all the tasks, especially if your own parents live a long way away or are not available due to other reasons. 

A Granny Aupair can help salvage young families’ time management. Often women from a certain age onwards are waiting for the arrival of grandchildren, but sometimes their own children scotch this plan. Why not put the free time and energy to use to support other families. The children love it: The Granny has time and listens, tells stories and plays, crafts, bakes, sings, paints and has a lot of ideas. The little ones learn a lot without getting bored. And the parents benefit even more from this arrangement. 

At the moment around 90 Grannies among others from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Australia and Ecuador are looking for a nice family they can support with life experience and verve. We are introducing you to two of them below.

Granny Christel – open and warm-hearted 

The 65 year old former project manager (user name   Christel Sch.), who loves travelling, would like to visit an English-speaking country as from September, preferably for four months. The keen diver and camper, who loves spending time outdoors,  writes in her profile that she is looking forward to “just living the everyday life and of course talking about my home and life there." The mother of adult children would also like to visit a langage course or something similar on site.

Granny Sybille – caring and sporty

Granny Sybille (user name: Shayana) has also been bitten by the travel bug and would like to support a nice family as from mid April. The linguistically talented journalist and experienced child minder from Austria loves sports of all kinds, like sking, swimming and hiking and also likes reading. In her profile she writes: “I love spending quality time with children and to accompany them during the big and small progresses they make on their own way. I want to get to know a beautiful country with rich culture and nice people. Also, I am always trying to improve my language skills, or even learn a new language.

• Please keep your profile up-to-date to avoid confusing potential Grannies. Please ensure that the date in your profile stating when the Granny should arrive is in the future. If you have found a Granny and are maybe looking for a “follow-up” Granny then also please change the date of arrival. And very important: Please send us a short e-mail which Granny is coming to you and from when.
• You arrange the length of stay individually with the Granny. Please remember that the Granny in on a private trip as a tourist and thus is bound to visa regulations according to the respective country. Mostly our Grannies wish to stay between 2 and 12 months.

• We advise you personally
• Create your profile on request following consultation (only in English or German)
• Send your search request to our newsletter subscribers (also to non-members)
• Handle the initial contact to the applicants
• Further the contact requests to you
• You decide which Granny you want to contact
• Everything further you can discuss directly and personally with the selected Grannies. As in the end the new family member has to fit in with you and not with us.
• If the chemistry and everything else is right, your temporary Granny can arrive!
