Having a granny in the house definitely relieves families - you don’t have to worry about your offspring all the time and can keep your head clear for other tasks. And yet some young parents are afraid of the idea of contacting a granny: What if you do not get along? After all, older women have a lot of experience, will they also let themselves be instructed by younger people? Especially young women often are wary of taking some kind of strict mother-in-law into the house.

These fears are understandable, but mostly unnecessary. Thanks to their long life experience Grannies know, above all, that everyone is  different. The Grannies are well-behaved and polite and adapt to new conditions, but still bring a breath of fresh air with them. Many of them are mothers-in-law themselves and are on good terms with their daughters-in-law. A new person in the house always means change. But from the outset you can actively determine if the experience will be positive or negative: Talk to each other beforehand on the phone or via Skype, and exchange views by e-mail. Thus you can quickly find out if you click. There is no right or wrong: what does not suit one person may be ideal for another.

With this freedom in mind, you can confidently embark on the adventure of Granny Aupair and find out  how this kind of support can change your life. In many cases, the Granny turns out to be a motherly friend, which is a heartwarming enrichment not only for the children, but also for the parents.

Interested und experienced: Granny Manuela 

The 56 year old secretary from Switzerland (user name Vurlod Manuela), who has already lived abroad for some time,  is very curious about foreign countries and cultures. Now the sporty and multilingual Granny, who helps out with homework supervision for children in the afternoons, wants to have a new challenge in a family, preferably in an Englishspeaking country. The mother of adult children, who is also fond of animals, likes reading and painting, enjoys cooking and baking and is looking forward to expanding her horizon.

Open and flexible: Granny Cornelia

The 64year old former English and PE-teacher (user name: Coko1230) already had au pair  experience a a young girl in Canada. Now the openminded and  interested mother of three adult children would like to travel abroad as a Granny Aupair from February for three months, preferably to a Englishspeaking country. The sporty Granny, who also likes reading and making music, is eager to make contacts all around the world and is looking forward to a good exchange with the host family.

It is very important for all concerned that our website is kept up to date: This is why we would like to ask you to keep your profile updated at all times. If you have found a Granny, please change the date from when you are looking for your (next) Granny in your profile. You can also de- and re-activate your profile any time during your membership. And please let us know for instance per mail which Granny is coming to you and from when.

• We advise you personally
• Create your profile on request following consultation (only in English or German)
• Send your search request to our newsletter subscribers (also to non-members)
• Handle the initial contact to the applicants
• Further the contact requests to you
• You decide which Granny you want to contact
• Everything further you can discuss directly and personally with the selected Grannies. As in the end the new family member has to fit in with you and not with us.
• If the chemistry and everything else is right, your temporary Granny can arrive!
