we are really pleased – the Granny Aupair community is growing steadily! All around the world families are looking for a loving temporary Granny, who can support them with her experience and love of life. To ensure that your search quickly leads to your dream destination or your dream family, we would like to pass on some useful tips – see the box below!

Today we want to introduce you to three nice families, who would like to welcome you as their Granny Aupair at the beginning of the new year: World Cultural Heritage, Mozart and the Festival – all these things are associated with the Baroque city of Salzburg. Stroll through the beautiful old town and discover all the details, wander in Mozart’s footsteps, or simply enjoy the delicious Austrian cuisine: this and much more is offered in the "Rome of the North". Here a family of five, who would like to remain anonymous at the moment, is looking for a Granny, who loves children and animals from the beginning of January. She should also like to cook and should sometimes have a firm hand when helping with the homework of the three children (girls 10 & 12 and boy 8).

In one of the most beautiful cities of the world in a fantastic location on a wide natural harbor, this small family from Sydney is looking for a Granny Aupair for their little two year old son as from January as well. Since the little boy is in nursery school until the afternoon, the Granny Aupair can use part of the day to explore the amazing sandy beaches and the numerous attractions of the city such as the world famous Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

In the traditional town of Miesbach in Upper Bavaria near Lake Tegern, this international family is looking for a Granny Aupair as from beginning of 2016, to help look after the two children (girl 7 and boy 4) mainly during the late afternoons. During the day the Granny would have enough time to look around the historical old town, explore the beautiful surroundings or also visit nearby Munich. The family would love to have their kids have the great experience of having a “grandmother” around.

Search with heart and mind - 7 tips

 

1. Let yourself be inspired by all our offers. Ultimately it is not the country but the people who are the key factor.

2. Make a lot of contact requests! If you like the look of a family, but some of their entries, like length of stay and start of placement do not match your wishes, then still try to contact them, as often the families are looking for follow-up Grannies. A lot is negotiable and it doesn’t hurt to ask questions!

3. If you have sent a contact request, some patience is mostly required. Often it takes a couple of days or even weeks until the families answer. The families are very busy or collect a few contact requests before they reply.

4. Please keep your profile up-to-date – so that the families know exactly, when you want to travel. If you have already found a family, you can deactivate your profile yourself under “profile settings” – and naturally activate it any time during your membership. And if you want to find a second (or third…) family during your membership, please enter the updated date, from when you want to travel.

5. Use the free text boxes in the profile to write a few sentences about yourself, to make your profile more interesting. If possible in a second language as well, it does not have to be perfect!

6. Look with heart and mind. Before coming to an agreement with a family, some details and conditions should be clarified. Thus you will not have unwelcome surprises during your stay and both sides will know what to expect.

7. And very important: If you have found a family please let us know, where you are going and from when. Thus you are helping us keep the website up-to-date.

Mozart City Salzburg

Slightly outside the historical Austrian town this family with three children (8, 10 and 12) is looking for a reliable temporary Granny, who is fond of children (user name Grannyfamily3). The Granny, who should have a driver's license, would supervise the homework for example, take and pick up the kids to and from various activities as well as cook lunch. A large room with private bathroom in a beautiful spacious home is waiting for the Granny. The travel expenses will be taken over in full.

On Australia’s coast between Bondi Beach and the Blue Mountains this small family (user name Enrico Neubert) is looking forward to welcoming a loving Granny for their two year old son as from January. During the day, when the little boy is in nursery school the Granny would have some free time; the family is mainly looking for support - also with household duties and cooking – in the afternoons and at the weekends. The Granny will have a lovely room in a large house in the outskirts of Sydney.

Near the Bavarian capital of Munich, in the historical town of Miesbach, this international family (user name George-Anna) would like to welcome a loving Granny, who should have a driving license, as from the beginning of 2016. The Granny Aupair would mainly fetch the two children from kindergarten/school and look after them in the late afternoons. A lovely room in a large house is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over completely.
