Dear Ladies,

after Mother’s Day and Father’s Day many nations now celebrated Children’s Day on June 1st. A good idea, which originated at the Geneva world conference for the well-being of children in 1925. In 1954 the United Nations commissioned the children’s aid organisation UNICEF with the arrangement of a World Children’s Day to be celebrated internationally. The day still takes place worldwide on different days, for instance at the beginning of June.

That you also hold youngsters dear in your heart is shown by your great commitment to Granny Aupair. And our families are very grateful for your help. This week once again we would like to introduce you to three lovely families, who are already looking forward very much to spending time with you.

Towards the rising sun

A diverse, often breathtaking landscape as well as a strong cultural heritage and a well developed tourist infrastructure: Japan, the land of the rising sun, is something special in every respect. Kobe, the large city on Osaka Bay, offers proximity to the sea and to  mountains as well as numerous tourist attractions and even its own Chinatown. Here an international family of four (user name Cpantel) is looking for a loving temporary granny to become part of the flexible family which also includes a young au pair. The children (boy 10, girl 7) go to school until the afternoon. As the mother often works in China, the support of the Granny together with the young au pair would be mainly needed in the afternoons and evenings. A nice room in a large house on the outskirts is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.

In the heart of Germany 

Nature, culture and history abound here: In the beautiful heart of the German „Mittelgebirge“ (Low Mountain Range) with many opportunities for hiking and biking and between the renowned festival and spa town of Bad Hersfeld and the Wartburgtown of Eisenach, the town of Martin Luther, this lively family of six (user name Maria Ke) is looking for a loving, active, experienced  Granny Aupair with a driving license as soon as possible. The young mother is doing an apprenticeship and needs some support with the girl (6 years old) and three boys (8, 5 and 3), who go to school or Kindergarten until the early or mid-afternoon. The Granny will have a lovely large room in a big house in a rural area. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Switzerland’s cultural centre 

Zurich, the cultural centre of Switzerland, offers a vibrant city life: The waterside promenades of Lake Zurich, the district squares, beautiful garden terraces or in summer the 40 „Badis“ as the inhabitants of Zurich lovingly call their bathing establishments, invite you to visit them. Here an international family (user name: Isabel.Ko) is looking for their next cheerful and reliable Granny Aupair, who should also enjoy cooking, as from the beginning of August, to help them look after their two little boys (4 and a baby). The family moved to Zurich from California early this year. The children go to kindergarten and crèche until the afternoon. A lovely room in a large flat on the outskirts will be made available. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Another important request

When filling out your profile, please check if you really can travel on the date you have stated. As soon as this changes, we would request you to change the date in your profile. This also applies when you have already found „your“ family and are maybe looking for a future „follow-up“ family. You can also de- and re-activate your profile any time during your membership.

And one more piece of advice is especially important to us: Before definitely committing yourself to a family, you should be absolutely certain that you want to undertake this trip. The families are relying on your coming, a short notice cancellation can make huge problems for the family. Naturally we understand that there are sometimes important reasons to not be able to go on a journey.
