Today we’d like to introduce you to two more of our Grannies who are currently looking for a lovely family to support. Perhaps you’ll soon be in need of a helping hand – maybe even just for a short period? Just take a look at the profiles of Grannies Elke and Claudia; they might be just what you’re looking for. You’ll find a brief introduction to both of them below.

In addition to these two Grannies, over 100 Grannies from countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Namibia, South Africa and the USA are looking for a meaningful role in a lovely family, as a childminder or as a companion – perhaps even on a temporary basis – via our online community.

Creative and dedicated: Granny Elke

Granny Elke (username Omaelke) would like to support a lovely family soon (for a maximum of 3 months, but would be happy to return from time to time afterwards). The 64-year-old former nurse is very creative; she enjoys painting and hiking, keeps fit with yoga, and is also a good and experienced driver.

This animal-loving mother of two grown-up children and grandmother of two young grandchildren is very much looking forward to being an active, loving stand-in Granny.

In her profile she writes: “I find accompanying a family as a ‘temporary grandma’ exciting and enriching for both sides. It would be great to get to know the country, the people, the culture and the language, whilst contributing my own experiences. As I am a grandmother myself and have a house and pets, I prefer stays of 1 to 3 months. Perhaps as a returning ‘grandma’, which also brings a certain sense of stability for the children.”

Open and helpful: Granny Claudia

Granny Claudia (username Ve) is also keen to support a family on a temporary basis for around one month or a bit more, starting in June. The sporty, animal-loving 54-year-old employment agent has previously been a Granny Aupair and enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, hiking and much more. This adventurous mother of three grown-up children is someone who takes a great interest in other cultures and ways of life.

In her profile she writes: “I’m looking forward to a lovely family that I can support. I’m excited about everything that awaits me on this adventure abroad. I’ve always been very interested in culture, language, the country and its people. I love doing things with children, spending time with them and being there for them.”

If you’re a member, feel free to contact any Grannies you like. Even if not all the details (such as your preferred date of arrival or country) match theirs. It costs nothing to ask!

And one more request: please reply briefly to contact requests, even if it’s a refusal. This prevents any confusion for the Grannies. If you arrange meetings via WhatsApp, Zoom, etc. and are unable to attend, please do send a brief cancellation. Naturally, we expect the same from the Grannies.
