"Mein Aufenthalt im indischen Projekt hat mir persönlich viel gegeben. Was ich dort an Dank und Sympathie zurückbekommen habe, war rührend. Durch die Armut der Frauen drängen sich unwillkürlich Gedanken auf wie: Was ist wirklich wichtig im Leben und was brauche ich eigentlich dringend? Mich hat es veranlasst, diesen Winter kaum etwas zu kaufen, da mein Kleiderschrank voll und eigentlich alles vorhanden ist. Dass die Frauen teilweise sehr schwere Schicksale haben und trotzdem immer fröhlich waren, hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Man sieht vieles ein wenig anders wenn man zurückkommt nach Deutschland. Es war eine tolle Erfahrung, zumal in Indien die ‚älteren Menschen’ noch einen anderen Stellenwert haben als in Deutschland."

“Mi estancia me ha dado mucho a nivel personal. Lo que el proyecto de la India me retribuyó en agradecimientos y simpatía fue muy conmovedor. Por la pobreza de las mujeres, una se confronta involuntariamente con preguntas como ¿Qué es verdaderamente importante en la vida y qué es lo que realmente necesito? Tuve el impulso de no comprar casi nada este invierno, porque mi guardarropa está lleno y tengo todo lo que me hace falta. En algunos casos, las mujeres tuvieron un mal destino, pero de todos modos parecían siempre contentas, eso me impresionó muchísimo. Se ven muchas cosas bajo otra perspectiva de regreso en Alemania. Fue una experiencia grandiosa, especialmente porque las personas mayores en India tienen una posición diferente que en Alemania.”

“My stay in the Indian project has personally given me a lot. “My travel bug and my wanderlust made me apply to Granny Aupair and now I have been on Tasmania for three months. On three days a week I look after the two year old son Elliot of a German-Australian family, enjoy family life, the joint trips and excursions and my leisure time for further activities. I have not regretted my trip “to the other side of the world” for one second and It could be that this will not be my last trip as a replacement Granny.”
