Newsletter Grannies - Easter – Time for Renewal

Dear Ladies,

Easter is the festival of spring – a time when nature comes to life and everything blossoms. We, too, often feel a renewed sense of energy, a fresh impulse for action and the desire to start something new.

So why not take a very special step? As a Granny Aupair, you have the wonderful opportunity to discover the world whilst feeling at home in a new environment. Far removed from traditional travel, you experience everyday life in another country or different setting first-hand – more intensely, more personally and more enrichingly than any package holiday could ever offer. And all without the high costs of a long-term stay.

Perhaps now is exactly the right moment for your next adventure?

Below, we’d like to introduce you to a few families who would be delighted to welcome a caring Granny Aupair very soon. As usual, you’ll find many more opportunities in our online community. You’ll also find a wonderful account by Granny Elisabeth, who took part in one of our social projects in Namibia, below.

We wish all current and future Granny Aupairs a wonderful Easter season full of inspiration, joy and new opportunities!

Best wishes from

Your Michaela Hansen and your Granny Aupair-Team

Idyllic Austrian Ziller Valley

The Zillertal (Ziller Valley) in Tirol, Austria is one of the leading family destinations, in the Alps. Surrounded by beautiful mountains the valley is full of magnificent scenery.

Here in the small town of Aschau a very grannyexperienced Czech-Austrian family of four (user name Kiara und Karlin) with 2 girls aged 14 and 10 is looking for their next experienced, flexible Granny Aupair from June. The parents manage two restaurants and so the Granny’s help would mostly be needed in the afternoon and evening, with the girls already doing a lot very independently. The girls are at school at least until midday (the older girl until the afternoon).

A lovely large room with private bath is available for the Granny. The travel costs are taken over in part.

Feedback report

by Granny Elisabeth from one of our social projects in Africa

With tears in my eyes back from Namibia to Luxembourg!

After months of volunteering in Oponganda/Namibia, time for my "farewell".

Thanks to Granny Aupair my long term dream to travel and visit this country came true.

There was no doubt, it had to be a Social Project, so it was.

Upon arrival I found an intermediate project to fill the vacation month of December. With school start in January I plunged into an incredible unique adventure paired with enormous personal learning benefits.

Oponganda as a Montessori oriented Pre-Primary School from about toddlers’ age onwards provides a premium educational opportunity for children of less favorite environment in this country. It would fill many pages to describe the volume of my impressions.

The children grow quickly to one's heart and their hopeful eyes will ever be with me. The warm and hearty acquaintance of all teachers made it possible to handle the more stressful moments with a good portion of humor. With my 71 years of age and still full of energy I will never forget the children, the wonderful people, the vast empty land and my new friends.

I highly and confidentially recommend every Granny to keep going and explore this adventure, Namibia's highlights add to it all. I will certainly come back one day!
