Greetings from the state of New Jersey.
I am now with the R. family in M. after the previous Granny broke her hip whilst ice skating.

Child-rearing in the USA is totally different, the best thing is to leave the German standards  in your suitcase and let yourself accept the family's habits.  This was very difficult for me at first, as the children's liberties are placed over those of the adults. The children don't know boundaries and rules.

After accepting this realization I feel very well here. The family is very nice to me and thankful that I do not want to be a do-gooder.

And I will be travelling to Shanghai to my next Granny Aupair family in February.
