Dear Families,

In earlier ages, grandparents tended to be strict authority figures, but times have long since changed: Today, grandma and grandpa are important conversational partners, friends, go-to persons for most grandchildren - and also an important link to the past. Unfortunately, however, for many families today, children rarely see their grandparents because they do not live in the same city or even the same country.

Granny Aupair helps to bridge this gap so that children whose grandparents live far away or may already be deceased can have an older contact person and parents can also have some relief. We would like to introduce you to three Granny Aupairs who are looking forward to supporting a nice family in advice and assistance in the near future or later in the coming year.

Open and versatile: Granny Jana   

Granny Jana (user name: magic) would like to help out a family from the beginning of the year or alternatively a bit later, preferably to improve her English skills. The 55-year-old teacher on sabbatical is very sporty and close to nature and loves hiking. The mother of three grown-up daughters is eager to experience another country.

Organized and sporty: Granny Elisabeth

Granny Elisabeth (user name: Elisabeth L.) would also like to support a family with kindergarten/primary school children as a Granny Aupair or companion as soon as possible, preferably in Italy or Italian-speaking Switzerland, but also in English-speaking countries.

The 63-year-old former commercial assistant is very sporty, especially preferring outdoor sports, but also loves cooking and baking. The mother of grown-up children and grandmother of a four-year-old granddaughter writes: "I am honest, concientious, friendly, reliable, nutrition-conscious and open to various offers."

Granny Susanne (user name: Susanne610) is also looking forward to being a temporary Granny with a family as soon as possible. The 53-year-old primary school teacher would like to use her sabbatical year to get to know other countries and cultures, preferably English-speaking ones. The sporty Granny also loves cooking, handicrafts, music and hiking.

In her profile she writes: "For a long time I have wanted to live abroad for longer than just a holiday. Now I have a "sabbatical" and would like to use the time now. I would like to live with a family, take care of the children and of course get to know the country intensively.“

Pay particular attention to what you write in your profile - especially about your expectations or the areas of responsibility for the Granny. Then there can be no misunderstandings later on. The length of your stay should initally be put at a maximum of 6 months (later you can possibly extend the stay in consultation with the granny).
