Newsletter Grannies - Starting out again - Looking for Grannies

Dear Ladies,

Slowly everything is actually starting up again. Since 15 June, many borders within the EU have been open to travellers from other countries, and many countries in Europe are no longer issueing a travel warning for other EU countries. And of course we hope that the relaxation will be extended to other countries in the course of the next months.

Our tip: Inspite of travel restrictions - Get in touch with families outside Europe now and thus have enough time to talk through everything concerning your stay in advance.

Within Europe many families are looking forward to welcoming their temporary grandmother soon. Often the families do not have a grandmother nearby who can help them in their daily routine, which has recently become even more difficult. Seize the chance to sur pass yourself once again! With your help, children can experience and learn something completely different from what they learn from their parents, such as old rhymes and songs or even great baking recipes and handicrafts. Help with homework is also welcome!

Below we are introducing you to two families who would urgently welcome support from a dear temporary granny in the near future. And besides these two families, there are many other families looking for a loving Granny Aupair, who would like to support them with advice and assistance.

With the best wishes for the beginning of summer!

Your Michaela Hansen und your Granny Aupair-Team

Royal Town in the Ile de France

With a famous castle and near a large forest, the royal town of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, residence of numerous kings of France and birthplace of Louis XIV, has much to offer from its rich past. Located directly on the Seine in the Ile de France region, west of Paris, the city offers a wealth of cultural activities and countless shopping opportunities.

Here an international, multilingual, granny-experienced family of five (Username elvira78) with a boy, 8 years old and two girls, 3 and 1, are looking for an open, positive Granny Aupair with a driver's license from mid August. The children are at school/preschool or with the childminder until 16:30 (except Wednesdays, with the youngest child also at the childminder on Wednesdays) and would have to be driven to various leisure activities in the afternoon.

Thus the Granny would also have enough time to discover the lovely surroundings or to attend a language course. An own adjoining apartment with bathroom and kitchen and a separate entrance is awaiting the Granny in the family's large house. The travel expenses will be taken over in full.

Pearl of North-West Germany Startseite

Clear, fresh air and its own lake - Bad Zwischenahn in East Frisia in North-West Germany is the right place for nature lovers. The Zwischenahner Lake invites you to go cycling, hiking or Nordic walking along the twelve kilometres long shoreline. There is also a lot to discover in the beautiful surroundings.

Here a granny-experienced English-German family (username sue burke) with 2 year old son is looking for their next loving Granny who likes cooking and with a driving license (and maybe own car) as from end of July to support Mum, as the father works away from home. The mother who does not speak much German yet, works a lot from home, little James goes to nursery until 16:00.

The Granny will have a beautiful large room with its own bathroom in a spacious house on the outskirts of the town. The travel expenses will be taken over in part.

ClIck here to find your „Dream-Family“

If you like the look of families, but their details, such as length of stay and date of arrival, do not match your expectations, then contact them anyway. Often the families have changed something or they are looking for several Grannies "one after the other". Many things are negotiable and it costs nothing to ask!

As many of our families are of international origin, it would be helpful if you could write in the "free text fields" in your profile - for example, where you write about yourself and your hobbies - in two languages, for instance English and German/French/Spanish etc. If necessary, the two online translation providers, Google Translator and Deepl, can be of help, so that the families can get a better picture of you right away.

Becoming a Granny Aupair is totally easy – this is how it works:

·  Register  free of charge

As a subscriber to our newsletter you are already registered for free. You can log into the secure area and browse through the profiles of our families with no further obligation.

·  Become a member

As a member of Granny Aupair you can then get in contact with other members. For this purpose you just click on the “Become a member” button in our community-section and pay your membership fee easily by PayPal or bank transfer. Tip: Upon payment with PayPal your profile is activated straight away and you can contact our Families & co. immediately.

·  Finding your way abroad

As a member of Granny Aupair you can now get in touch with the families and co. They can then also view your profile and contact you. You decide who may see your contact details. Write, phone or skype in detail with the families who are on your short list. Maybe you can also organize an introductory meeting. Get to know each other thoroughly and discuss the precise arrangements of your stay (accommodation, responsibilities and daily routine, coverage of travel costs, pocket money etc.). Is the chemistry right? Then get your things together and you’re off!
