Newsletter Grannies - May: The month of expectation
Dear Reader, dear Grannies,
”May is the month of expectation the month of wishes, the month of hope.” This quote by author Emily Brontë sums up many of the feelings of potential Granny Aupairs.
Nevertheless often the inner couch potato acts as an obstacle. The one who’d rather stay curled up on the sofa, remote in hand, finding clever excuses for why now just isn’t the right time. And if that weren’t enough, there are always those around us who are quick to dismiss our plans with a “That’ll never work anyway.”
Changing habits isn’t easy. Guilt, duty, long-held values, or inner conflicts can get in the way when we’re trying to follow our dreams and finally put our own needs first. But if you want something to change, you have to take action.
If you can push past doubts - yours and other people’s - and step out of your comfort zone, you're already well on your way. Maybe even on the path to becoming a Granny Aupair!
Many families from near and far are looking forward to welcoming a caring, life-experienced temporary grandma into their homes - someone to bring warmth, wisdom, and joy into their everyday lives. Today, we’re introducing three of them. You will find even more lovely families waiting to hear from you in our online community
Very best wishes from
Your Michaela Hansen and Your Granny Aupair-Team
Vibrant Mediterranean Island
The Balearic capital of Mallorca awaits you with a vibrant cultural scene, with galleries, museums, and events bringing the city to life. Situated near fantastic beaches and picturesque scenery Palma’s old town, once a Moorish kasbah or walled city,is an attractive labyrinth of narrow alleyways.
Here an English-German small family of four (user name Hanna55) with currently 6 month old twin girls are looking forward to welcoming a calm, empathic temporary grandma with baby experience. The mother is often alone, as her partner travels quite a bit as a musician, so support with the babies and bit household during the day would be welcome.
A nice room with private bath in a large apartment in the city center is made available for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over completely.

Village life in the Ile de France
With two beautiful nature reserves as well as a rich cultural, architectural and artistic heritage the Val d’Oise in the Ile de France region north of Paris offers a whole range of highlights to explore.
In the small village of Nesle-la-Vallée, situated near the forest, but close to necessary ameneties, a family of four (user name MathildeJ) with a girl, 5 and boy, 2, plus dog are looking for a positive, gentle outdoor-loving English-speaking Granny Aupair with a driver's license from the end of August, ideally for a longer period of time.
Elena and Corrado are at school/ nursery school until 16:30, so help from the Granny would mostly be needed in the late afternoon until the mother returns in the evening. A nice room with private bath in a lovely house within a rural setting is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.

Idyllic heart of England
Lush green hills, enchantingly beautiful gardens, old castles, imposing stately homes and dreamy villages with quaint pubs. All this awaits you in the Cotswolds, often called the idyllic heart of England. The beautiful region stretches across six counties in southwest England.
In County Gloucester in the beautiful hamlet of Church Westcote, which is close to several lovely towns, a small granny-experienced family (mum and two daughters, 17 and 16 and two dogs) with the username MumKate would like to welcome their next dog loving temporary Granny with a driving licence who also doesn’t mind cooking sometimes as a new family member as soon as possible. Ideally the Granny would have her own car, but she can also use the mother's, as one of the main tasks would be driving the older daughter to dance lessons on three (4) days a week.
Normally the girls go to school until later in the afternoon, in the holidays Granny would have be there a bit more while Mum works. The Granny will be offered a nice big room in a spacious house in a rural setting. The travel costs will be taken over in part.
