Dear Ladies,

Career, house, children, marriage – many women have achieved everything by midlife, yet still find a sense of inner emptiness and disillusionment creeping in. Could this really be all there is?

Even later in life, we still have dreams and longings. Of course, at this stage we cannot turn back time completely – but we can revisit certain paths and begin something new. The Swiss philosopher Barbara Bleisch, for example, believes this as well.

Those who remained childless despite wishing for children, those whose children (and grandchildren) have long since grown up, or whose grandchildren have not yet arrived, may realize how much they miss being around children – and can look for other ways to follow that longing. For instance, as a Granny Aupair.

As a Granny Aupair, you support families around the world with your experience and wisdom. At the same time, you discover new languages and cultures and often form lifelong friendships. Many Grannies say the experience makes them feel rejuvenated and full of energy.

As inspiration, we would like to introduce you to three families from various regions in Germany,  who are looking forward to welcoming a kind „bonus grandma“ into their homes soon. In our online community, you will find many more families searching for a loving grandmother figure.

Historic Baltic resort

Germany's longest beach promenade, miles of beach and many historic villas. In Kühlungsborn on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast, beach holidays have been a tradition since the mid-19th century. The abundance of historic buildings designed in the so called „Bäder“-architecture dates back to that time.

Here, a family of six plus a cat (user name Brunsch78) would like to welcome a loving, experienced, independent temporary grandmother for their two girls (aged 10 and 2). The family also has two sons (aged 15 and 13, the younger of whom attends boarding school).

The older girl goes to school until around 3 p.m., while the younger one has just started nursery (until 2 p.m.). The Granny will have a beautiful large room with her own bathroom in a spacious house with a heated pool on the outskirts of town. Travel expenses will be covered in part.

Beautiful Heath Landscape in Northern Germany

The Lüneburger Heide is a large heathland region in northern Germany, known for its purple heather blooms in late summer, wide open landscapes, and traditional villages.

In the small town of Salzhausen, near the historic town of Lüneburg and only 35 kilometres from the metropolis of Hamburg, a small family of 4 (son, 2, and daughter currently 9 months) with the user name Marie-Sophie, who are currently re-locating from Dubai end of May, are looking for a loving, baby-experienced Granny Aupair with a driving licence, to help with  the new beginning.

The little boy will be attending kindergarten as from the end of August, the baby will still be at home. A nice room in a large house in a rural area is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in full.

Gateway to the Harz Mountains

Medieval castles, picturesque lakes and many half-timbered towns are often just a stone's throw away from the historic university town of Göttingen, nestled on the edge of the Harz Mountains in the heart of Germany.

Here a small American-German grannyexperienced doctor’s family (mother plus daughter , 4 and son 1) with the user name Viktoria H. who have recently moved back to Germany are looking forward to welcoming their next fun-loving, compassionate, kind temporary grandma, who also maybe likes cooking, to give the mother a hand.

Both children go to day-care (normally until around 16:00), so the Granny would have time to explore the lovely surroundings and/or visit a language course. 

A nice room in a large apartment in the town centre is available for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in full.
