Dear Ladies,

Becoming a Granny Aupair also requires a bit of flexibility and adventurous spirit to make it a success - after all, it is an encounter of complete strangers . The host family invites a strange person  into their home - in other words, into their most private sphere. For Granny Aupairs, too, many uncertainty factors come together in an unfamiliar environment. Dream and reality do not always coincide. If you leave your comfort zone, you should be open to new things and adaptable!

In any case, it is helpful to thoroughly discuss mutual expectations before making a firm commitment to a family. This way you can prevent unwelcome surprises.

Below we introduce you to three families who would like to have the support of a dear temporary grandmother soon or even a little later in the year. Many other families from near and far are waiting for their good soul who can support them with life experience and competence. Just take a look at our online community.

Best wishes from

Your Michaela Hansen and your Granny Aupair-Team

In the heart of Europe

The small kingdom of Belgium on the North Sea coast delights visitors from all over the world with delicious waffles and chocolate as well as medieval churches and thrills with its mixture of dynamic, cultural diversity.  The capital Brussels offers many sights - including Grande Place, Atomium, Manneken Pis and many beautiful alleys to stroll through.

In the municipality of Rixensart in the south of Brussels, in a wooded area with a beautiful chateau and a lovely lake, a British-Ukrainian-Belgian family of three (user name Vita_G) with a 3 year old girl, plus dog and cat is looking for a kind, flexible, open-minded Granny with a driving license, preferably English or French-speaking soon. Little Kira goes to the crèche until late afternoon, so the Granny’s help is mainly needed in the afternoon. A nice room with a private bathroom in a house in a rural area is waiting for the Granny. The travel costs will be taken over in part.

Our Tip:

Send lots of contact requests! If you find families you like but their details, such as length of stay and date of arrival, do not match your expectations, then contact them anyway, because often something has changed with the families, they have simply forgotten to change their profile or they are looking for several Grannies in a row. Many things are negotiable and it doesn't cost anything to ask!

If you receive contact requests and you already have a family or the family doesn't seem  to fit your expectations  write a few words back, even if it's a refusal. That way the family doesn't wait in vain for an answer and is not confused.
