Dear families,

Maybe you are wondering what is happening to Granny Aupair at the moment, as travel regulations are changing every day due to COVID19? We are definitely continuing! And are not letting ourselves be get down!  

For example, Granny Irmgard has been enjoying the warm autumn sun in Greece for a few days now: I had a smooth arrival in Greece and was well received. As this is my first assignment, I am positively surprised, because I didn't come with naive expectations. I've been on the road a lot, only not as a Granny, so I know what it means to be accepted in a foreign home and country. I have left the length my stay open, partly because of COVID, but I will stay for a reasonable period of time and give the family the promised support. I will be in touch again... Like Irmgard, there are currently still various Grannies “on the road”, among others with German and international families within Germany, but also for example in France, Abu Dhabi, Switzerland and Norway. Or they will soon be travelling to a family – even if they partly have to go into quarantine initially on arrival. Other families are already making contact with Grannies for next year and are getting to know each other via Facetime, Skype, e-mail etc. before they can welcome their temporary Granny in the hopefully not too distant future.

Below we would like to introduce you to two Grannies who would like to support a nice family sooner or later. And besides these Grannies there are many other Grannies who are currently looking a family to help with advice and support. Just have a look at our website Granny Aupair

Open and versatile: Granny Gudrun

Preferably as soon as possible, Granny Gudrun (user name G.Schneider) would like to help a family for three to five months, ideally in an English-speaking country. Or also from September 2021, then preferably for longer. The 69-year-old former secretary from southern Germany has many hobbies, including cooking, baking and music, and also loves hiking in nature. The sporty mother of adult children is looking forward to broadening her horizons. In her profile she writes: "I would like to have a family connection, good understanding with the family, getting to know the country and possibly the language through language courses".

Responsible and experienced - Granny Anna Elisabeth 

Granny Anna Elisabeth (user name Klara) would also like to help an English- or German speaking family, for instance in China, in their everyday life from March next year. The 70-year-old former primary school teacher and educator is also interested in helping with home schooling, homework etc.. She loves hiking, culture and travelling, but would also like to point out that her left hand is physically handicapped. The mother of adult children is looking forward to passing on her experience again: "I can imagine that my experience can be a support for parents and children. I am also personally interested in living for some time in an unfamiliar and interesting environment".

• Send many contact requests! If you like the look of one or several Grannies but their details, such as length of stay and date of arrival, do not match your expectations, then contact them anyway. Often, something has changed with the Grannies, they have simply forgotten to change the date in their profile or they are looking for several families in a row - or even due to COVID19 for a later period. Many things are negotiable and it costs nothing to ask!
• If you receive contact requests and you already have a Granny or you think you cannot match, do write a few words back, even if it's a rejection. This way the Granny will not wait in vain for an answer and won’t be wondering what has happened.
