We are thrilled – the Granny Aupair community is growing steadily! All around the world Grannies are looking for a nice family, whom they can support with experience and love of life.

To enable you to quickly find your dream Granny, we want to give you a few useful tips – see the box below...

Today we would like to introduce you to two of our many Grannies, who would like to help you with their valuable experience of a life lived fully and their social competence.

Granny Adel (60) would love to travel to an English speaking country, to get to know the culture, the traditions, nature and naturally the people a bit more. Granny Angelika (64) would also prefer an English speaking country or family to improve her language skills and to receive new insights. See below for more information…

Search with heart and mind - 7 tips

1. The best thing is to take a thorough look at all our Granny profiles.
2. Send a lot of contact requests! If you find Grannies interesting, but their specifications like length of stay and arrival date do not match your wishes, contact them anyway, as often something has changed in the Granny’s plans or she is looking for a “follow-up” placement. A lot of things are negotiable and asking questions doesn’t cost anything!
3. When you have received a contact request from Grannies please try and answer as soon as possible, even if it is a polite refusal. The ladies are often quite excited and thus rather impatient.
4. Please keep your profile up to date – this is the only way the Grannies can know from when exactly you are looking for a Granny. If you have already found a Granny, you can deactivate your profile any time under „Profile Settings“ – and naturally activate it again at any time during your membership And if you want to look for a second (or third…) Granny, please enter the updated date from when you are looking in your profile.
5. Please use the free text boxes, to write a few sentences about your family, so that the Grannies get to know you a bit better. It would be nice if you could do this in a second language as well, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
6. Search with heart and mind – before agreeing to a Granny’s visit, you should be clear about some of the details and conditions about your time together. Thus there will be no surprises later on and both sides will know, what they letting themselves in for.
7. And very important: If you have found a Granny Aupair, please let us know, who is coming to you and from when. Thus we can always keep our website up-to-date.

 

Granny Adel – warmhearted and witty 

The 60 year old freelance editor (user name Adel) would prefer to come to Ireland as from January. In her profile the sporty and musical Granny, who also loves cooking, singing and playing the guitar writes:

Granny Angelika – social & flexible

The 64 year old former sales rep (user name aradloff) is looking forward to new experiences in foreign countries – preferably English speaking ones. She would like to come for three months as from January or February or in the autumn. The open minded and flexible Granny is interested in culture and wants to improve her English skills.

"We have had several Grannies over the last two years"

Family from the USA: “It has been a great experience so far. We have had several Grannies over the last two years, and two of them have come back for a second stay. The children are really happy when a Granny comes again. We also had a "Granny Reunion" in Frankfurt in July this year with our family, my mother, and four grannies. It was wonderful to see all of them together!“

• Create your profile on request following consultation (only in English or German)

• Send your search request to our newsletter subscribers (also to non-members)

• Handle the initial contact to the applicants

• Further the contact requests to you

• You decide which Granny you want to contact

• Everything further you can discuss directly and personally with the selected Grannies. As in the end the new family member has to fit in with you and not with us.

• If the chemistry and everything else is right, your temporary Granny can arrive!
